Consult a Doctor: Visit your doctor, who will identify your condition and provide an official prescription ( Rezept ).
Check out a Sanitätshaus: Take the prescription to a licensed medical supply store.
Approval Process: The store will often manage the documentation directly with your Krankenkasse (medical insurance supplier). For more pricey items, prior approval ( Kostenvoranschlag ) may be required.
Fitting and Delivery: Once authorized, the store will either fit the product on-site (such as determining you for compression stockings) or provide and assemble bigger products (like hospital beds) straight to your home.
